Karen Kysar

We all know it takes a village to raise a child - our village provides different perspectives to caregiving and offer enrichment to our children in ways we never imagined. As a first time parent with no living parents, and siblings and in-laws living far away, Karen had to build her own village.

Karen started The First Milestones after recognizing a crucial need in offering families with a strong support network through comprehensive parenting resources and qualified, loving caregivers.

She also recognized that parents need resources to navigate managing their caregivers. Though we often consider our nannies a part of our family, we still have a responsibility to be people leaders and help our nannies grow in their careers. With years of experience managing teams in a marketing agency, Karen has applied her direct knowledge to develop employee management resources for parents.

Karen brings the parent’s perspective to each placement - evaluating each candidate for fit with the prospective family and gauging caregiving approach to ensure alignment.
