One of the reasons I used Karen’s service is because of my limited amount of time! She seriously saved me. She coordinated all interviews/trial days, contacted references, performed background checks and did initial interviews before sending candidates my way. There is absolutely NO WAY I could have done all that on my own. It was a very personal experience, I felt like I was dealing with a friend who was helping me out. She was very patient, supportive and diligent. She communicated with me throughout the entire process and gave me a lot of great and helpful resources. I cannot recommend her services enough. I now have a really great nanny that I trust with my 3 month old while I go back to work and that alone is priceless!

As a first time mom I was feeling really overwhelmed about finding a nanny before going back to work. But Karen and her team literally did everything for me and found the perfect nanny for my son. She sings silly songs and pays constant attention to him. She keeps her phone by the door while he’s awake and really is in tune with his needs. She even goes the extra mile to stay safe and healthy during the pandemic. Their instincts were right about our nanny! She’s amazing.

First off, I’ve never hired a nanny before so I had no idea where to find people, what to look for, how to know if someone was a good fit fit our family’s style and needs, and even the practical considerations like contracts, payroll, etc. Karen walked us through all of that and made it much less intimidating. Then she handled all of the most time-consuming aspects. She found people in our budget and only sent us profiles for people she’d pre-interviewed that seemed a good fit. It was a HUGE time-saver. Next, Karen genuinely cares about your family and the nanny candidates. She gets to know people, and she checks in often to tailor her candidate recommendations to exactly what you want. Karen and her team were able to find us someone who lives nearby and is studying child development and even has daycare experience! Karen walks you through how to do a screening play date and practice days, what to look for to know if you’ve found a good fit, etc. She handles all the background checks, reference checks, etc. Even after our nanny started, she’s checked in and provided guidance for feedback and communication loops to make sure everyone is happy with the placement. I had a nervous stranger-weary toddler who has really not been exposed to many people because so much of her life was spent during COVID, but my daughter LOVES her nanny and lights up when she comes to play. I’d whole-heartedly recommend The First Milestones to anyone who’d like to use a nanny but is a bit overwhelmed with where to begin or where to find quality candidates. The time savings alone were invaluable.

We made the decision to transition our daughter from daycare to a nanny due to frequent illness. It was a difficult decision as we loved her daycare and caregivers, and we knew NOTHING about the process of hiring a nanny. The First Milestones Team guided us seamlessly through the process.
