Warm, active, and safety-conscious nanny needed for a growing family with a toddler and newborn

About Our Family

We are a warm, welcoming family of four located in south Fort Worth, near Burleson. This role will support myself as Mom, my active two-year-old son, C*, and his new baby brother. C is surrounded by a huge village of family who play active roles in his life including his Dad, grandparents, aunt and cousins, all of whom keep our house filled with warmth and care. 

C is outgoing, curious, and happiest outdoors. We live on a property where he has plenty of room to run, explore, and play. We also have a fenced pool and animals on the property, so attentive supervision and strong safety instincts are essential.

Our family is entering a season of exciting change: we have recently moved, welcomed a new baby, and are transitioning from a long-term nanny who has been with C since he was three months old. We want to make this transition as warm and consistent as possible for him.

Mom will be home during the initial part-time period and will remain the baby’s primary caregiver. The nanny’s initial focus will be providing active, dependable care for C, with occasional support related to the baby. Mom anticipates returning to work in the new year, at which time the position may transition to full-time care for both children.

Work Details

• Anticipated start date: Fall 2026

• Part-time, live-out position through approximately December 2026

• Opportunity to transition to a full-time, long-term role beginning in January 2027

• Approximately 16–20 guaranteed hours per week during the initial part-time period

• Proposed part-time schedule:

  • Tuesday, 2:00–5:30 p.m.

  • Wednesday, 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

  • Thursday, 2:00–5:30 p.m.

• Tuesday and Thursday responsibilities may include picking up our son from Mother’s Day Out in downtown Fort Worth

• Occasional evening babysitting may be available

• Anticipated full-time schedule beginning in January: Monday–Friday, approximately 40–48 hours per week

• Guaranteed weekly pay

• Paid by direct deposit with taxes withheld (W2)

• $25/hr

• Paid vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays

The schedule may be adjusted slightly to accommodate the right candidate. The ideal applicant will have enough flexibility to grow into the family’s anticipated full-time needs.

Experience & Education Requirements

• First Aid / CPR certification

• 3+ years relevant experience, either as a parent, nanny, or in a childcare facility

• Prefer some college

• Licensed and insured driver

• Must have reliable transportation 

• Conversational English (can be first or second language)

• Strong understanding of toddler development, routines, and age-appropriate activities

• Newborn experience strongly preferred

• Able to safely supervise children around a fenced pool, animals, and a large outdoor property

Responsibilities

During the Initial Part-Time Period

• Provide warm, attentive, and engaging care for C

• Pick C up from Mother’s Day Out on designated afternoons

• Plan plenty of outdoor play, exploration, and developmentally appropriate activities

• Prepare and serve simple meals and snacks for C

• Maintain his afternoon, rest, and evening routines

• Encourage reading, imaginative play, movement, and age-appropriate independence

• Anticipate potential hazards and provide vigilant supervision around the pool, property, and animals

• Support a calm and positive transition as C adjusts to a new sibling and caregiver

• Provide occasional baby-related assistance as requested, such as washing bottles, replenishing supplies, or briefly caring for the baby

• Complete light child-related tidying, including toys, dishes, play areas, and children’s laundry

• Communicate openly with the parents about the children’s activities, routines, and needs

If the Position Transitions to Full-Time

• Assume primary daytime care of the baby

• Continue school transportation and afternoon care for C

• Coordinate the children’s feeding, sleep, play, and activity schedules

• Prepare age-appropriate meals, snacks, bottles, and feeding supplies

• Plan enriching indoor and outdoor activities for both children

• Handle children’s laundry and keep their rooms, toys, bottles, and common play spaces organized

• Transport the children to school, appointments, outings, and activities as needed

• Partner with the parents as the family’s routines and needs evolve

No heavy housekeeping is expected; household duties will remain focused on the children.

About You

You are warm, grounded, dependable, and genuinely delighted by young children. You enjoy being outside and will happily spend time exploring, playing, and moving with an energetic toddler. Outdoor activity is not simply something you tolerate—it is something you naturally enjoy.

You are highly safety-conscious without being unnecessarily restrictive. You instinctively scan the environment, anticipate what could happen next, and remain especially vigilant around water, animals, and open outdoor spaces. You balance that awareness with a willingness to let children explore, learn, and have fun.

You are confident and proactive. Once you understand the family’s preferences and routines, you can take ownership of the day without needing continual direction. At the same time, you communicate well, respect the parents’ expertise, and are comfortable collaborating with Mom while she is home during the postpartum period.

You understand that this family is navigating several meaningful transitions. You can offer C warmth, consistency, and reassurance while building a loving relationship with his new baby brother. You are also adaptable enough to support the family as the role potentially develops from part-time toddler care into a full-time position caring for both children.
