Warm, peaceful, playful, and proactive full-time Nanny/Family Assistant needed for a loving family in Walsh Ranch

About our family:

We are a warm, loving family with two fun-loving boys, ages 4 and 20 months, and a friendly Golden Retriever. Our home is active and playful, but we also deeply value creating a calm, peaceful environment for our children.

Our oldest son attends school five days a week, so most daytime care will center around our 20-month-old. Our younger son currently has a flexible, open schedule with one nap each day, allowing plenty of time for play, outdoor adventures, reading, music, learning, and eventually activities outside the home.

Mom works from home and will generally remain separate during working hours. We are looking for someone who brings a calm, easygoing presence into the home- someone confident enough to take the lead with the children without needing frequent direction or creating unnecessary interruptions during Mom’s workday.

Work details:

• Start date: ASAP

• Full-time live-out nanny, Monday - Friday

  • Mon-Wed: 8:30am-5:00pm

  • Thursday: 8:30am-5:45pm

  • Friday: 8:30am-1:45pm

• Guaranteed weekly pay at 40 hours per week

• 15 days paid vacation- 10 days coordinated with the family, 3 sick days, paid major holidays

• Paid by Zelle with taxes withheld (W2)

• $26/hr

Experience & Education Requirements:

• First Aid / CPR certification

• 3+ years relevant experience, either as a parent, nanny, or in a childcare facility

• Prefer some college

• Licensed and insured driver

• Must have reliable transportation 

• Conversational English (can be first or second language)

This position will be approximately 80% childcare and 20% household/family assistant responsibilities.

This is first and foremost a childcare position, but we are specifically looking for someone who understands that caring for children also means caring for the environment around them. The goal is for Mom to be able to finish her workday and transition directly into spending time with the boys rather than needing to reset the house each evening.

Childcare Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day care of our 20-month-old, including meals/snacks, diapering, nap routine, and general toddler care

• Maintaining a relaxed, consistent daily rhythm with age-appropriate sleep, meals, play, and rest

• Planning simple, developmentally appropriate activities 

• Lots of reading, active play, imaginative play, and outdoor time

• Basic education instruction utilizing guided programs (i.e. colors, shapes, numbers, letters, simple workbooks)

• Helping our youngest learn simple routines such as cleaning up toys, putting books away, and helping prepare for outings

• Driving to nearby activities such as parks, swim lessons, Little Gym, and other local outings

• Eventually assisting with school pickup/drop-off for our 4-year-old

• Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children

• Light tidying and resetting of children’s spaces, toys, dishes, and belongings throughout the day — no heavy cleaning required

• Keeping diaper bags, activity bags, car seats, strollers, and children’s supplies reasonably organized and ready to go

Family Assistant Responsibilities:

We have weekly professional housekeeping, so this is not a housekeeping or deep-cleaning position.

We are looking for someone who naturally helps keep the home tidy, organized, and functional throughout the day. Childcare always comes first, but when there is downtime, we want someone who sees reasonable things that need to be done and helps take care of them.

• Children’s and towel laundry

• Resetting the main living area, play spaces, and children’s rooms

• Picking up obvious items and returning them to their place

• Unloading dishwasher/loading children’s dishes and resetting the kitchen after meals

• Refilling household and children’s supplies, such as soap, diapers, wipes, and humidifiers

• Cleaning/refilling the coffee maker as needed

• Organizing the boys’ closets, drawers, toys, and books

• Rotating toys and books

• Identifying outgrown clothing and maintaining organized wardrobes

• Restocking diaper bags and activity supplies

• Keeping bags packed and ready for swim, classes, outings, etc.

• Keeping car seats and strollers reasonably tidy

• Occasionally putting away grocery or household deliveries

• Preparing simple children’s meals and snacks

• Handling an occasional simple pickup or return while already out with the children

• Noticing and handling small tasks when time allows

About you: 

You are warm, peaceful, playful, and proactive and genuinely enjoy young children and are also happy to help keep the household running smoothly throughout the day.

You’re happy to get down on the kids’ level to read, build, play, explore outside, and keep them engaged without relying on screens.

You have experience with toddlers and are confident in navigating meals, naps, outings, and everyday routines. You bring a calm, peaceful presence into the home and are comfortable taking the lead with the children while Mom works from home.

You’re proactive, organized, and willing to help keep the children’s spaces, belongings, and daily routines running smoothly. You’re comfortable assisting with general family tasks to keep the household running smoothly. A confident driver who is comfortable with school pickup and local outings is strongly preferred.
