Foster Park in Fort Worth

Foster Park is a simple but fun spot where kids can play, explore nature, and enjoy a few hours outdoors!

We love bringing our kids to Foster Park in the Westcliff area of Fort Worth, near Trail Lake Drive and South Drive. It's just under 12 acres, small enough to manage but big enough to keep the kids busy for a few hours!

The park has a duck pond along a creek, and we always end up feeding the ducks or just standing at the edge watching them paddle around. PRO TIP: If you plan to feed the ducks, bring a bag of frozen corn. It’s better for them than bread.

The creek also means plenty of rocks and fossils along the banks, so we bring a little bag and let the kids collect their favorites! It's simple, but it keeps them busy without needing anything fancy. 

The playground has a stand alone swing set and a small wall climbing feature, which is great for our kids since they want something more active but aren't quite ready for bigger climbing structures. 

There's also almost a mile of trails, so if the kids still have energy after playing, we'll walk or bike around the park to let them burn it off. There are creeks you can explore along the trails. 

We usually bring a picnic too, since there are tables, benches, grills, and a shelter for shade. Parking is easy, which makes the whole trip low stress.
