Calm, experienced nanny/family assistant needed for growing family in Dallas, TX

About our family:

We are a hardworking, heart-centered, family-first household. Dad is an entrepreneur and co-founder of KidStrong, Mom is a family physician with a part-time holistic telemedicine practice & podcast host, and our 19-year-old adopted son from Tanzania is finishing high school and heading into a gap year. We love working out, spending time with family and friends, and the boys are big sports fans! 

We are looking for someone who can step in during the postpartum season as a steady, nurturing presence for both mom and baby; this person will ideally transition to a family assistant/mother’s helper position after the newborn stage, focusing on keeping the house running and support with baby care while mom works from home approx 2h/day.

Work details:

  • Start date: Early June or sooner

  • Part-time live-out postpartum support transitioning to family assistant/mother’s helper

  • Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 5:00pm

  • $30/hour

  • Guaranteed weekly pay at 20 hours per week

  • Paid time off, including vacation and sick days

  • Paid through payroll with taxes withheld (W2)

Experience & requirements:

  • Postpartum and newborn experience required

  • Lactation support experience strongly preferred

  • Family assistant or household support experience preferred

  • Cooking and meal prep experience preferred

  • Must have a calm, warm, grounded presence

  • Must be highly organized and proactive

  • Must be comfortable supporting a family with a holistic, health-conscious mindset

  • Must be able to operate without much direction or supervision once aligned on expectations

  • Strong communication skills required

A candidate with extensive hands-on postpartum experience and a naturally supportive, intuitive style will be especially well suited for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing postpartum support to mom, including helping ensure she has food, hydration, and hands-on support 

  • Offering lactation support and gentle newborn care support

  • Watching the baby so mom can shower, rest, or take a nap

  • Helping create a calm, well-supported environment during the postpartum period

  • Assisting with light housekeeping and tidying

  • Handling baby and mother’s laundry

  • Heating prepared meals and assisting with light meal prep for the rest of the family

  • Monitoring household supplies and helping re-order or restock essentials as needed

After the postpartum support, the candidate will transition to a family assistant / mother’s helper position, responsibilities will be 50% family support, 50% childcare

These responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, and tidying

  • Inventory control for cleaning supplies, pantry, and household essentials

  • Assistance with grocery orders, cooking and meal prep preferred

  • Assistance booking appointments and light calendar management

  • Assistance with travel planning 

  • Family logistics and coordination

  • Event and holiday planning

  • Personal errands

  • Assistance with coordinating vehicle and home maintenance as needed 

  • Accompanying mom to appointments to provide baby care as needed

The family has a bi-weekly housekeeping service and will not require heavy cleaning.

Communication & decision-making:

We prefer a weekly summary to help keep communication clear and organized. This role should operate with care and initiative and will be given autonomy as you learn about our family and our preferences.

You likely have a holistic mindset and feel comfortable working with a family that values attachment parenting, good nutrition, and a thoughtful, intentional home environment. You are equally comfortable offering hands-on postpartum support and helping with the practical details that keep family life running smoothly.
